Privacy and data controls

Test-build notice · Updated October 15, 2026

ResponseOne is a navigation aid under testing, not dispatch or a system approved for emergency operations. This page describes what the current web app does; it is not a substitute for a reviewed operational privacy policy.

Location and route requests

Location permission is optional until you use live navigation. The app uses your current GPS position in the browser to show your location, start a route, update guidance, and detect arrival. It does not save a sequence of GPS fixes or a complete trip history.

To provide maps, search, road information, and directions, your browser may send a map area, typed search, origin, destination, or bounded route area to Mapbox, the public OSRM routing service, the Overpass road-data service, or the backup map provider OpenFreeMap. These third parties may process request and network metadata under their own policies. Cloudflare hosts the site and may process ordinary web requests. See Mapbox’s privacy information and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

What stays in this browser

Delete your app data

From the map, open R1 → Settings & privacy → Delete all stored app data. This clears ResponseOne’s saved choices, recent searches, feedback queue, and temporary route copy from this browser. You can also delete searches/feedback or the saved route separately in Settings. Deleting app data does not undo requests already sent to map providers, change your browser’s location permission, or clear the browser’s general website cache; use your browser’s site settings for those controls.

Current limitations

No account or app analytics are enabled in this test build. A server-side feedback store and production provider proxy are not connected. Provider retention and legal requirements need review before the app is used operationally or feedback is transmitted.
